How It Began

I went to Catholic masses throughout my life but never really developed a real relationship with God. Around the time I started high school I began to go to this local non denominational church. I enjoyed the messages they spoke of but I still hadn't made any connection. 

Around the summer of 2009 I had discovered a metal band by the name of The Devil Wears Prada (I'm actually listening to them as I write this). Some of my friends had always played them, but I thought they were really annoying. I couldn't understand what the screamer was saying and metal wasn't really my thing at the time. The music eventually began to grow on me. I started to really like them and found other bands with similar styles. One day I decided to look up their lyrics so I could actually understand what they were saying. I had no idea they were a Christian band. I can't remember what song it was but when I read the lyrics I felt something unexplainable. It was some sort of connection. I had read those words for a reason... This was the beginning of something new in my life that I thank Him every day for. Since then I have grown in spiritual awareness and continue to do so every day.
